Wireman / Assembly Technician

About the Role

To competently follow predefined manufacturing processes to deliver products.

Accountabilities

· Support of production teams manufacturing activities.
· Making of wire looms/various crimping to IPC/WHMA-A-620C requirements.
· Routes and ties wires to form wire harness used in electrical and electronic equipment or system.
· Reads instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
· May attach ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip, using soldering iron, Splicing, crimping.
· Test wiring continuity, using continuity tester.
· Delivers production requirements by following instructions/processes.
· Electronics assembly inspection support.
· Delivers in production and inspection activities following instructions and processes to ensure technology is delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost-effective manner.
· Working alongside engineers to develop new products.
· Assisting in the creation of manufacturing instructions
· Familiarity with MS Office and able to execute test commands and programs and review test results.
· Completes own work unsupervised and facilitates the work and activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area.
· Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
· Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
· Responsible for general housekeeping within their area.
· Assist in work centre housekeeping and any 5S activities.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

· General experience of all aspects of box build manufacturing processes
· Proactive and able to take initiative
· Experience in a similar role with knowledge of electronic components & test equipment
· Good mechanical knowledge
· Excellent use of hand tools
· Hand assembly to meet Class 3 requirements for IPC/WHMA-A-620C, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-610 & IPC-7711/7721
· General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.
· Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.
· Good time management.
· Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.
· Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
· Good understanding of working in similar high technology environment.
