About the Role

To competently follow predefined processes to deliver products.

All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.

This job description may not detail some less major duties allocated to the post holder, nor cover duties of a similar nature, commensurate with the role, which may from time to time be reasonably required by the relevant manager.

Accountabilities

• Competently perform metrology activities, quality control, first off and continued inspection.
• Ensure no product non-conformity escapes to customers.
• Performs/prepares inspection activities during and after product manufacturing.
• Delivers inspection requirements by following instructions/processes.
• Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
• Conducting inspection processes to meet Customer & internal requirements.
• Conducting measurements of products/ tooling and fixtures as required.
• Reporting measurement outputs included for FAIR and improvement activities.
• Ownership of calibration of measurement devices, traceable to national standards.
• Responsible for general housekeeping within their area.
• Accurate and appropriate measurement of product features to determine conformance/non-conformance to drawing/model.
• Improvement of the inspection processes to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness.
• Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
• To maintain work equipment and a safe and well organised workstation.
• To complete safety checks to ensure machine and work equipment is in good working order.
• Assist in work centre housekeeping and any 5S activities.
• Performs/prepares inspection activities before, during and after product manufacturing.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Comprehensive understanding of mechanical drawings to allow for detailed mechanical inspection.
• Be able to work to strict deadlines.
• A wide knowledge and experience of using manual inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of CMM an advantage.
• Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.
• General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.
• Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.
• Good PC skills.
• Good time management.
• Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.
• Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
• Good understanding of working in similar high technology environment.
